The Durmitor Ring Road is one of the most beautiful roads in Montenegro, and perhaps even in all of Europe. Breathtaking views of clear lakes, flowing rivers, dramatic canyons, and mountain peaks await you at every turn.For those wondering – the road is paved and drivable in a regular car, without the need for an off-road vehicle. However, it is advisable to plan the trip in advance, as along the route:- There are no gas stations, so make sure your fuel tank is full enough for the entire trip.- The road is about 80 km, but due to stops for sightseeing and slow driving on the narrow road, allow at least 3-4 hours.- There are places where the road is very narrow, and for two cars to pass, sometimes one has to reverse to allow the other to pass.- Food options are limited – there is only one restaurant at the beginning/end of the road (depending on the direction of travel), so it is recommended to pack a picnic for lunch.- Cell phone reception along the way is limited, so it is recommended to download an offline map before setting out.
